About the episode

This episode focuses on global employment. Undoubtedly, remote work's main benefit is tapping into the global talent pool and hiring anyone from anywhere. But when it comes to employment, the picture gets blurry: freelance contracts, on-site employment, or something else. So I invited Andrea Carlon from Lano, a global employer of record company, to discuss the topic.

Quotes from the show

We are bringing opportunities to people who previously didn’t have access to remote roles. The employer of record companies have the power to truly democratize the way we work.

There is a misconception that companies pay lower salaries due to geography. Yes, of course, they won’t pay someone from Brazil as much as they would be based in Silicon Valley, but they still pay a very competitive price for their employees.

We see more and more cases of companies that take advantage of the power  that being remote gives them. Tools like employer of record are great for growth and toget a competitive advantage.
